11. One of my clients is having trouble with noisy
neighbours i.e. sound is coming through the party wall from
telvision/hi-fi. Is there a simple sound insulation
solution?
Yes, we have a system that can be used to insulate party
walls. For an existing masonry wall we recommend adding an
indepenent lining system incorporating Knauf steel I studs with
50mm of Crown Acoustic Partition Roll between the studs and faced
with two layers of 12.50mm Knauf Plasterboard. There should be a
minimum space of 10mm betwen the independent lining system and the
existing wall. This system can improve the acoustic performance of
the complete construction by approximately 10dB.
