Question15
15. I have a sound problem between two offices.
Although the wall gives approximately 48dB ,we can still hear
conversation from the other office. The partitions are built up to
the suspended ceiling, I.e. they do not continue to the soffit
above.
Provided the suspended ceiling achieves a Sound Reduction
Index of 33dB, a 50mm layer of our Rocksilk Smoke and Fire Barrier
fixed vertically at the head of the partition, will improve the
sound reduction performance to approximately 42dB. If you require
greater sound reduction, one layer of our foil faced product would
give approximately 44dB and two layers of foil faced approximately
48dB. The foil facings should abut the ceiling voids.
