Question28

28. What products do you have for use as a resilient layer within a concrete intermediate floor to achieve the requirements of Part E of the Building Regulations for sound insulation?
For floor Type 2 constructions the structural concrete floor should be at least 150mm thick with a minimum mass of 300kg/m3 and overlaid with a 65mm sand and cement screed. A resilient layer of Rocksilk Acoustic Floor Slab Plus is laid on top of the screed and then overlaid with 18mm of chipboard. The floor can be constructed from cast concrete or concrete planks. The ceiling should be constructed of 15mm standard Knauf Wallboard in conjunction with the Knauf C Form II ceiling system. This is a Robust Detail and Post Construction testing is not required.
