British Gas announces Thames Water partnership to meet CERT
30 January 2012

British Gas has
announced it has entered into a new partnership with Thames Water
to offer property owners greater access to loft and
cavity wall insulation and home energy schemes.
The Telegraph reports the collaboration has come about following
the publication of data highlighting the lack of progress that has
been made by many UK energy suppliers in achieving the targets set
out for energy efficiency under the government's CERT scheme to
date.
As a result, the pair are embarking on a new campaign that aims to
target 2.3 million households across the country over the next six
months.
Piers Clark, Thames Water's commercial director, commented: "The
relationship with Thames Water and British Gas will be the best one
customers can get. The cheapest? That will depend on their personal
circumstances, but it's the best offer we can see in the
round."
The news follows a recent announcement that homes in Derby are set
to benefit from energy efficient installations by North East
Derbyshire District Council as part of a major new investment
programme which is set to get underway this summer.
