Energy efficiency education grants announced
30 January 2012

A pair of
Monmouthshire-based initiatives have applied to secure funding
under the Local Energy Assessment Fund (LEAF) that could help to
provide education for local residents in regard to energy
efficiency in the home.
The South Wales Argus reports an Eco Open Doors event is set to be
held in March following the award of more than £15,000 in funding
for Monmouthshire county climate champions and Transition
Monmouth.
Aimed at providing information to residents on insulation,
low-energy lighting and other efficient technologies in the home,
the event is expected to be extremely popular.
Giles Howard, the local council's cabinet member for culture and
environment, told the newspaper: "The council is keen to do
everything in its power to help the reduction of energy
consumption."
Elsewhere, residents in North Somerset are also set to benefit
under the LEAF scheme, with homes in Portishead, Pill, the Gordano
villages, Abbots Leigh and Leigh Woods all set to benefit from a
£100,000 grant.
Knauf Insulation – impartial advice and sustainable insulation
