North Lincs residents asked to comment on Green Deal
08 February 2012

Homeowners in North
Lincolnshire are being asked by local authorities to get in touch
regarding their attitudes to the government's upcoming
Green
Deal.
North Lincolnshire Council has set up an online questionnaire that
will attempt to get feedback on the proposed green initiative, with
a focus on whether people believe it is a scheme that would be
beneficial to them.
According to the South Yorkshire Times, residents are being asked
whether they think the initiative is worthwhile and if they think
they will be able to make savings.
Homeowners will be able to take out low-interest loans to make
amendments to their property, including adding cavity wall and loft
insulation.
The move follows recent comments by the Builders' Merchants
Federation, which called on the government to reduce VAT on all
home improvements carried out under the Green Deal.
It claimed that the present VAT system does not favour ecological
home improvements and can be confusing for the public.
