Insulation benefits demonstrated to homeowners
17 July 2008

A home
insulation scheme in Wales is to organise a drop-in day to let
householders see how to increase their energy efficiency.
Carmarthenshire council's Home Improvement Team is to demonstrate
the benefits of insulation to homeowners in Llwynhendy, the
Llanelli Star reports.
People will be encouraged to cut down on their carbon output as
well as save money on heating bills through a variety of other
methods, including efficient boilers and thermostats.
The drop-in day is part of a wider scheme in the area, which
focuses on insulating local homes and offers a free service to
over-70s and those on benefits.
Householders in Fylde have recently benefited from a similar
programme, which has resulted in some 17 households being fitted
with free insulation.
The Fylde Low Waste and Energy scheme and the local council
conducted a series of inspections and subsequently signed people up
to the scheme where it was felt insulation was needed.
