Insulation 'could attract potential buyers'
22 July 2008

Making a house more energy efficient can attract potential buyers,
it has been claimed.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that research has shown
that eco features are something that could appeal to homebuyers as
a result of rising fuel costs and a greater concern for the
environment.
People may look at the quality of the boiler and the windows, as
well as whether or not the property has insulation fitted.
Leeds estate agent Alan Cooke commented: "Everyone is looking to
make savings at the moment and if they can see that a house will
cost less to run than another it's a big selling point."
The news provider emphasises the benefits of insulation,
highlighting the fact that it traps heat rising form the house,
meaning that less escapes.
It states that potential buyers would no doubt be impressed with
the significant savings that can be made every year - some £155 a
year on heating bills if the recommended 270mm depth is
fitted.
Thinkinsulation.com recommends installing glasswool insulation - a
substance made from recycled glass that is doubly
environmentally-friendly.
