Earthwool® RoofSlab Hybrid is available in R-values from 3.95 m2K/W to 6.40 m2K/W

Fire

The rock mineral wool element of Earthwool® RoofSlab Hybrid is classified as Euroclass A1 to BS EN 13501-1. The PIR element is Euroclass F to BS EN 13501-1, Class 1 BS 476 (Part 7).

Description

Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid slabs are high strength, dense rigid slabs made from rock mineral wool, manufactured using Krimpact™ and ECOSE® technology, factory bonded to a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) board faced on both sides with a perforated mineral coated glass fleece, specifically designed for use in flat roofing applications offering excellent acoustic, fire, thermal and compressive strength performance.

Application

Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid is suitable for use with built-up felt, mastic asphalt, mechanically fixed and adhered single-ply membrane waterproofing systems.

Environmental

Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid represents no known threat to the environment and has zero Ozone Depletion Potential and zero Global Warming Potential.

The rock mineral wool element has a BRE generic Green Guide rating of C, the PIR element a BRE generic Green Guide rating of A.

Standards

The rock mineral wool element of Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid is manufactured in accordance with BS EN 13162, ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, as certified by Bureau Veritas.

The PIR element is manufactured in accordance with BS EN 13165, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Durability

Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid are non-hygroscopic, rot proof, do not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria.

Compressive Strength

The rock mineral wool element of Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid has a compressive strength of 75kPa.

The PIR element of Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid has a compressive strength of 150kPa.

Handling and storage

Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid slabs are easy to handle and install, and easily cut to size, where necessary. They are supplied in polythene wrap which is designed for short term protection only. For longer term protection on site, the product should either be stored indoors, or under cover and off the ground. Earthwool RoofSlab Hybrid should not be left permanently exposed to the elements.

Krimpact Technology

Krimpact™ Technology realigns the mineral wool strands during manufacture to increase compressive strength without dramatically reducing thermal performance. Furthermore, Krimpact Technology achieves a consistent density slab. This ensures better long-term compressive strength, high impact resistance, better thermal performance and a thinner, lighter product compared to other high-strength insulation options.
