Social and environmental responsibilities are taken seriously at Knauf Insulation and as such, the UK’s leading insulation manufacturer has been shortlisted in the 2014 INCA (Insulated Render and Cladding Association) Awards for its entry into the sustainability category.
INCA is the recognised trade association for the External Wall Insulation (EWI) industry, representing the major system designers, a nationwide network of specialist installers and the key component suppliers.
With buildings accounting for 40 per cent of energy consumption and up to 45 per cent of houses losing energy through solid walls, EWI presents an ideal solution to reduce the loss of thermal energy, as well as enhance the appearance. As such, the awards seek to recognise innovations and excellence in the EWI industry.
As part of Knauf Insulation’s submission to the sustainability category, the company detailed its three key objectives for its long-term sustainability agenda: to champion energy efficiency in buildings, to have products recognised as best in class and to be recognised as a responsible manufacturer and employer.
This certainly impressed the judges with these challenging aims and importantly, the processes and innovative methods it has implemented to achieve these targets.
The awards dinner will be taking place on Thursday 16 October at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London, where all winners will be announced.
