Knauf Insulation, the UK’s leading manufacturer of insulation products, has raised an incredible £2653 for Movember, thanks to a number of fundraising initiatives including a moustache growing competition.
In November, Knauf Insulation’s male employees took part in ‘Movember’ where they were encouraged to grow a moustache for the whole of the month - incentivised with prizes for the best Mo growers!
Ian Cunningham, (St Helens plant), Chris Bridle (St Helens Head Office), Simon Hamer (Queensferry) and Lee Griffin (Cwmbran) were winners of the competition after sporting their impressive moustache growing skills.
Throughout the month, Knauf Insulation also held dress down days, guess the mo quizzes, word searches and a raffle where lucky employees had the chance to win prizes including a Kindle, a physio massage, a signed Everton picture and bottles of wine.
Additionally, there were weekly advice sessions on men’s health to increase awareness of testicular and prostate cancer.
Rachael Burke, Occupational Health Adviser at Knauf Insulation said: “Taking part in Movember has been great fun and most importantly has raised awareness amongst employees of men’s health.
“We want to thank everyone for all the support and generous donations received. The money raised will contribute to the vital work that Movember does to increase awareness of what is considered a taboo subject, men’s testicular and prostate cancer.”
