Knauf Insulation is proud to join the ‘energy elite’ after receiving accreditation from the National Energy Foundation (NEF) for energy efficiency at its UK manufacturing plants. The coveted award was granted following a rigorous assessment of its use of energy and means that it now joins a small group of only 55 accredited manufacturing companies.
The Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme (EEAS) provides recognition for achievements in energy efficiency in industry, commerce and the public sector and is the UK’s only independent award. Since 1993, just over 200 organisations have met the requirements of the scheme and, of these, only one-quarter are classed as manufacturing industry: Knauf Insulation joins AstraZeneca, BNFL, Rolls-Royce, Whitbread and 50 other companies who have received the prestigious award.
Commenting on their success, Allan Morgans, Knauf Insulation’s Process Development Manager, said, “Receiving accreditation is a great reward for the hard work and effort that many people within the company have made. But it’s more than just a money saving exercise! As a manufacturer of energy saving products, we feel it’s only right to practise-what-we-preach and demonstrate our capabilities”.
The NEF was founded in 1990 as an independent organisation to promote a more efficient, innovative and safe use of energy. Working closely with the Energy Saving Trust (EST) and National Energy Action (NEA), the NEF provides objective and impartial advice, consultancy, training and project management for both UK residents and corporate bodies.
