Knauf Insulation is pleased to announce that its ThermoShell® Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) system entry has been shortlisted for the New Retrofit Product category in the Greenbuild Awards.
In association with Salford University, the New Retrofit Product award recognises product innovations for retrofit solutions.
Lydia Sharples, head of communications, Northern Europe at Knauf Insulation comments: “We are very proud to have been shortlisted in the Greenbuild awards, in recognition for our contribution of sustainable insulation solutions for the retrofit market. Insulation has a critical role to play in creating a sustainable built environment and manufacturers have a responsibility to ensure that products and policies are of an extremely high standard in order to meet that need.”
Knauf Insulation’s ThermoShell Internal Wall Insulation system, incorporating Earthwool®, was specifically developed to improve the process of insulating solid masonry walls. It has also shown the retrofit market that simple systems can be incorporated to allow for the mass installation upgrades required in order to meet the Government’s 2030 target of upgrading two million of the nine million hard to treat properties. The award-winning system has been extremely well received by the market and was recently given full BBA certification.
