Knauf Insulation Launches UK's First Carbon Neutral Insulation Product

Knauf Insulation has launched the first carbon neutral loft
insulation product in the UK. CarbonZero Loft Roll was unveiled to
the public at Ecobuild 2008.
CarbonZero is a glass mineral wool quilt with superb thermal
performance, sound absorption and fire resistance. It is designed
for use within pitched roofs at ceiling level with timber joists at
either 400mm or 600mm centres. It can also be used to thermally
insulate floors or wherever a lightweight mineral quilt is
required.
CarbonZero's manufacture has a low impact on the environment and
is classified as Zero ODP and Zero GWP, meaning it is free from
CFCs, HCFCs and any other material with ozone depletion properties.
Like all of Knauf Insulation's glasswool products, it is also made
from a high content of recycled glass bottles. To offset any carbon
produced during its manufacture and transportation of CarbonZero,
Knauf Insulation has invested in carbon reduction initiatives such
as renewable energy and re-forestation.
Commenting on the launch of Carbon Zero, Lydia Sharples, head of

option of a product that takes the exceptional environmental
