Knauf Insulation cheers the Saints!
 
Keen to support the local community, Knauf Insulation are proud to be sponsoring St Helens Rugby League Football Club – the Saints – in their quest for further success in this year’s Rugby Superleague. Thinksulation®, the energy efficiency initiative jointly sponsored by Knauf Insulation and the Energy Saving Trust, promoted the opening match of the season and were rewarded by the Saints taking a convincing win. Well done! Warm glows all round!

In muddy conditions at their Knowsley Road Stadium, the Saints took the honours in their opening match with a conclusive, 40-18 win over the Widnes Vikings. Prematch and half-time entertainment centred on the cheerleaders and opportunities to win a signed Saints shirt and for one lucky ‘punter’ – congratulations Lloyd Neary of Walton Avenue, Warrington! – a Home Insulation Transformation that includes both cavity wall and loft insulation.

The UK Government’s commitment to the Kyoto Protocol means making a dramatic reduction in the amount of greenhouse gases created by burning fossil fuels to produce energy. Their studies, which underpin the current Energy Efficiency Commitment, concluded that household cavity wall and loft insulation would prove the two most effective methods – but also revealed that ‘householder apathy’ could prove a significant barrier to achieving the necessary step-change in domestic energy efficiency.
To win this particular battle in the war against Global Warming, the Government has adopted a policy of encouraging homeowners to improve their insulation by subsidising its installation. This is great news for homeowners and the environment – homes will be warmer, energy bills will be lower and, of course, less CO2 will be created. There’s never been a better time for homeowners to insulate their homes – and save the planet by saving money!
