KNAUF INSULATION RECEIVES BBA CERTIFICATION - 18.07.11
Knauf Insulation is pleased to announce that it has received BBA
(British Board of Agrèment) certification for its innovative
ThermoShell® Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) system.
As the UK’s major authority offering approval of construction
products, systems and installers, BBA certification is only awarded
to a product after it has successfully passed a rigorous assessment
involving laboratory testing, on-site evaluations and inspections
of production. Knauf Insulation’s ThermoShell IWI system has
undergone a comprehensive testing process and has successfully met
all the requirements set out by the BBA.

Providing an effective method of upgrading solid masonry walls
whilst delivering high levels of thermal performance, the IWI
system can raise a property to current Building Regulation thermal
standards and beyond, drastically reducing carbon dioxide emissions
and significantly lowering energy bills.
The simplicity of the IWI system allows a competent tradesman to
undergo assessment and training to become an approved installer,
enabling them to install and finish the system using a traditional
plaster skim finish or dry lining techniques. No scaffolding
is required and the system can be installed on a room-by-room
basis, or as part of a whole house refurbishment plan.
The certificate was presented by Alan Thomas, the sales and
communication director for the BBA, at a ceremony held on Knauf
Insulation’s stand Greenbuild Expo, in Manchester.
