Mark Andrews has been appointed Managing
Director of Knauf Insulation Limited, the UK’s leading manufacturer
of mineral wool insulation materials.
The promotion, announced in the New Year by CEO, Tony Robson, gives
Andrews full responsibility for all Knauf Insulation operations in
the UK and Ireland and comes as the company enters a particularly
exciting chapter in its history. Andrews now has the enviable
challenge of implementing and building on a series of initiatives
designed to address the current shortage of insulation materials in
the UK and further strengthen Knauf Insulation’s position as its
leading manufacturer.
Driven by Government subsidised grants for domestic insulation and
increasingly stringent building regulations, the need for
insulation products, and especially mineral wool products, is
continuing to increase. To meet this, the company recently
announced that it was accelerating its investment programme at its
UK manufacturing plants. New, state-of-the-art manufacturing
facilities are to be built at both its St. Helens and Cwmbran
plants over the next two years, and its Queensferry plant will
reopen in March 2005, having benefited from a £10m upgrade that
will increase its capacity by 50 per cent.
Andrews was promoted to the role of Deputy Managing Director a year
ago having held the position of Sales and Marketing Director for
two years.
