Knauf Insulation unveiled an exciting new range of glass mineral
wool products at this year's Ecobuild. Perimeter Plus™ Blow in
Blanket System® (BIBS) is one of a series of products that are <
key to Knauf Insulation's drive to help buildings achieve the
highest possible rating under the Code for Sustainable Homes.
Knauf Insulation's Perimeter Plus™ is a super high performance,
glass blowing insulation for specialist installers and contractors.
Suitable for new build timber frame construction, Perimeter Plus™
enables homes to make ultra high energy savings, providing an
innovative solution for compliance with the Code of Sustainable
Homes. Perimeter Plus was launched two years ago in the USA and is
now the fastest growing method for insulating timber frame
houses.
As well as boasting excellent sound absorption characteristics,
Perimeter Plus™ considerably lowers a building's energy expenditure
and so reduces the demand for fuel used in heating and cooling
buildings. Perimeter Plus™ has a thermal conductivity of 0.034W/mK,
and the energy and carbon dioxide emissions saved by the product in
use vastly outweigh those generated in their manufacture.
The innovative Blow-in-Blanket® system creates a thermal,
acoustic and fire resistant barrier for timber frame construction.
The product completely fills all gaps, voids and hard to reach
areas around pipes, electrical wires and fixtures ensuring
excellent coverage and a custom fit regardless of shape or
size.
