Knauf Insulation’s Perimeter Plus™
Blow-in-Blanket® System has been awarded a British Board
of Agrément Certificate (BBA) at this year’s
Ecobuild, thanks to its optimised thermal performance, airtightness
and compliance with all Building Regulations and
standards.
Agrément Certificates are the Gold Standard of
product and system approvals, resulting from a rigorous and
thorough examination of the product itself as well as its
manufacturing process and installation.
Perimeter Plus Blow-in-Blanket System is a
specialist high performance loose glass mineral wool insulation
designed to be blown into timber frame walls from the inside of a
house under construction. Installers gain a visual assurance of a
quality installation in every area as the product completely fills
all gaps, voids and hard to reach areas around pipes, electrical
wires and fixtures. Perimeter Plus also surrounds and compacts
around pipework ensuring excellent sound control.
Blow-in-Blanket System (BIBS) is a patented
process consisting of loose glass mineral wool blown in between
timber studs behind a translucent netting layer. This ensures
that the installation is a quick and clean process, as the product
does not require adhesives or moisture, meaning that working even
in a cluttered internal environment does not present a problem and
that there is no risk of corrosion or mould problems further down
the line.
Perimeter Plus is perfect for projects looking to maximise
credits on the Code for Sustainable Homes as, unlike alternative
insulation materials, glass mineral wool can simultaneously enable
the acquisition of points on the waste, pollution, health/wellbeing
and management sections of the Code in addition to the energy
category. Perimeter Plus is made using a high content of
recycled glass bottles, and conserves energy once installed, which
in turn helps to reduce the fuel demand for the heating and
air-conditioning of buildings. The product’s manufacture has a low
impact on the environment and is classified as Zero ODP and Zero
GWP.
