Description

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll is a flexible, resilient, unfaced roll of glass mineral wool. It is supplied in dimensions to suit studs at standard 600mm centres.

Application

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll is designed specifically for the sound insulation of metal and timber stud partitions.

Using mineral wool as a sound absorbent layer in partitions will significantly improve their acoustic performance, whilst only adding minimally to the overall mass of the structure.

The mineral wool complements the plasterboard by absorbing airborne sound in the cavity and reducing reverberation. It also has the effect of reducing the hollow sound that can occur in partitions with unfilled cavities.

Metal stud partitions faced with standard 12.5mm plasterboard and infilled with Crown Acoustic Partition Roll can meet the requirement for a 40 Rw dB sound reduction in accordance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations

Standards

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll is a noncombustible, inorganic glass wool, defined as mineral wool in BS 3533: 1981 and is manufactured in accordance with BSI Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001: 2000

Durability

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll is odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, does not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria.

Vapour Resistivity

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll has a vapour resistivity of 7.00 MN.s.g.m.

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll is free from CFCs, HCFCs and any other material with ozone depletion potential in its manufacture and content and represents no known threat to the environment.

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll’s manufacture has a low impact on the environment and is classified as Zero ODP and Zero GWP.

Handling and Storage

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll is easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easily cut to size. It is supplied enclosed in polythene which is designed for short term protection only.

For longer term protection on site, the product should be stored either indoors, or under cover and off the ground. Installation instructions are on every pack.

Crown Acoustic Partition Roll should not be left permanently exposed to the elements.
