Description
Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation is a loose, shot free,
non-combustible glass mineral wool insulation which requires no
mixing on site.
Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation is supplied fully enclosed
in polythene bales.
Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation is for blowing into new or
existing masonry cavity walls to improve their thermal
performance.
Agrement Certificates
The BBA
certificate for Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation approves the
product specification, application and installation procedure for
this product. This product complies with the relevant sections of
the:
- Building Regulations (England and Wales)
- Building Standards (Scotland)
- Building Regulations (Northern Ireland)
The certificate covers use in masonry cavity walls with a
minimum 50mm cavity width, up to 25m in height, in any exposure
zone.

Fire Performance
Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation is classified as Euroclass
A1 to BS EN
ISO
13501-1. The installation of Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation
will not adversely affect the fire rating of the wall and will not
constitute a toxic hazard in fire conditions.

Notes: The U-values have been calculated assuming that all
walls are lined with plasterboard on dabs. Block sizes assumed to
be 440 x 215 x 100mm, mortar joints assumed to be 10mm wide, wall
ties assumed to be stainless steel with a cross-sectional area of
12.5mm2.
Water and Vapour Resistance
Tests by the British Board of Agrément confirm that Crown
Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation will not transmit water to the inner
leaf. Nor will they transmit moisture by capillary action across
the cavity or from below DPC level. This has been confirmed by
independent research conducted for the Energy Saving Trust, which
shows that cavity wall insulation does not add to the risk of water
penetration.
Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation and offers virtually no
resistance to water vapour, permitting the wall to breathe.
Environmental Performance
Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation conserves energy and
therefore assists in reducing demand for fuels for the heating and
air-conditioning of buildings. As a result, they reduce the
emissions of the major greenhouse gas, CO2. The energy
and CO2 emissions saved by the products in use vastly
outweigh those generated in their manufacture.
They are free from HCFCs, CFCs and any other material with ozone
depletion potential in their manufacture and content. They
represent no known threat to our environment.
Crown glass mineral wool’s
manufacture has a low impact on the environment and is classified
as Zero ODP and Zero GWP.
Packaging
Knauf Insulation Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation is
supplied fully enclosed in polythene packs.
Handling and Storage
The packaging of Knauf Insulation
Crown Supafil Cavity Wall Insulation is designed for short term
protection only.
For longer term protection on site the products should either be
stored indoors, or under cover and off the ground.
