Description
PyroDuct Slab is a rigid, rock mineral wool slab, faced with a
Bright Class ‘O’ reinforced aluminium foil.
Application
PyroDuct Slab is fully tested and certified to provide up to 2
hours fire protection to HVAC steel ductwork. It can be used in
horizontal ducts, vertical ducts, ducts passing through compartment
walls and floors and kitchen extracts. PyroDuct Slabs are suitable
for applications above clean rooms, within air plenums or for
aesthetic purposes.
Standards
PyroDuct Slab is made from non-combustible, inorganic rock wool,
defined as mineral wool in BS 3533: 1981 and is manufactured to a
Quality Assurance system which complies with BS EN ISO
9001:2000.
Certification
PyroDuct Slab is fully certified for duct types A and B (fire
inside and outside with insulation, integrity and stability) to
provide up to 2 hours fire protection for steel duct work.
Durability
PyroDuct Slab is odourless, non-hygroscopic, rot proof, does not
sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or
bacteria.
Acoustic performance
Ventilation and extract ducts are usually low velocity and don’t
generate high levels of noise. PyroDuct will provide effective
control of noise, the actual performance varies with insulation
thickness and surface finish
Environmental
PyroDuct Slab is free from CFCs, HCFCs and any other material
with ozone depletion potential in its manufacture and content and
represents no known threat to the environment.
PyroDuct Slab’s manufacture
has a low impact on the environment and is classified as Zero ODP
and Zero GWP.
Thermal performance
PyroDuct has a thermal conductivity of 0.037 W/mK.
Moisture Resistance
When exposed to 90% relative humidity and 20°C Pitched Roof Slab
absorbs less than 0.004% of moisture.
Water Resistance
PyroDuct is non-wicking when tested in accordance with BS
2972:1989 Section 12.
Handling and Storage
PyroDuct Slab is easy to handle and install, being lightweight
and easily cut to size.
PyroDuct Slab is supplied in packs in Supakube pallets which are
designed for short term protection only. For longer term protection
on site, the product should be stored either indoors, or under
cover and off the ground.
PyroDuct Slab should not be left permanently exposed to the
elements.
