Floorfoam Laminate underlay
For use as a cushioning and sound deadening
layer below laminate and wood flooring
Description
Floorfoam is a closed cell extruded polyethylene foam available
in roll form. The closed cell nature and flexibility of Floorfoam
make it excellent at cushioning vibrations under laminate and
hardwood floating floors.
Solutions in 2mm and 5mm are offered with enhanced acoustic and
damp proofing properties available in the 5mm.
Application
Floorfoam Laminate underlay 2mm is used in conjunction
with a polythene damp proofing layer on concrete floors and is
loose laid below a laminate or hardwood floor finish.
Floorfoam Laminate underlay 5mm is a higher performance and
highly moisture resistant solution. This can be used without the
need for a separate damp proof membrane (dpm), with joints taped.
Again, this supports a laminate or hardwood floor finish, providing
superior acoustic and thermal performance.
Standards
Floorfoam Laminate underlay is manufactured in accordance with
BSI Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 and has been
tested acoustically to BS EN ISO 140-8:1998.
Acoustic Performance
The closed cell nature and resilience of Floorfoam Laminate
underlay makes it excellent at cushioning vibrations under laminate
flooring.
2mm -
typical 17dB noise reduction
5mm -
typical 23dB noise reduction
- Excellent acoustic performance
- Good compression resistance
- 5mm acts as an acoustic layer AND dpm
