Description
Earthwool EcoBatt is a high performance, non-combustible, water
repellent, glass mineral wool slab.
Application
Earthwool EcoBatt is used for the thermal insulation of solid
walls and is installed as part of the ThermoShell Internal Wall Imsulation (IWI)
System along with EcoStud.
Earthwool EcoBatt is 555mm wide to suit the space between
EcoStuds installed at 600mm centres and is friction fitted to
ensure it fully fills the available insulation zone. Earthwool
EcoBatt should be installed so that it is in intimate contact with
the EcoStuds and the plasterboard lining.
Standards
Earthwool EcoBatt is non-combustible glass mineral wool, defined
as mineral wool in BS 3533:1981 and is manufactured in accordance
with BSI Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001:2000, and
Product Standard EN 13162.
Durability
Earthwool EcoBatt is odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, does
not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi,
mould or bacteria.
Vapour Resistance - resistivity
Earthwool EcoBatt offers negligible resistance to the passage of
water vapour and has a vapour resistivity of 7.00 MNs/g.m.
Environmental
Earthwool EcoBatt is free from CFCs, HCFCs and any other material
with ozone depletion potential in its manufacture and content and
represents no known threat to the environment.

Earthwool EcoBatt's
manufacture has a low impact on the environment and is classified
as Zero ODP and Zero GWP.
Moisture Resistance
Earthwool EcoBatt will not transmit water across the installed
system nor will it transmit moisture by capillary action.
Handling and Storage
Earthwool EcoBatts are easy to handle and install, being
lightweight and easily cut to size, where necessary. They are
supplied in polythene packs which are designed for short term
protection only. For longer term protection on site, the product
should either be stored indoors, or under cover and off the ground.
Earthwool EcoBatt should not be left permanently exposed to the
elements.
