Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls
For the thermal insulation of new and refurbished flat
roofs
Description
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls are rigid extruded polystyrene boards
with Zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and a Global Warming
Potential (GWP) of less than five. Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls is a
specially designed system of pre-cut tapered high performance
lightweight extruded polystyrene boards (xps) with high compressive
strength.
Typical board sizes are 1250 x 600 and cut to suit any fall
system. The boards are straight edged and can be supplied with a
foil facing to suit pvc single ply membrane applications.
Application
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls is used for thermal insulation of new
and refurbished flat roofs. Their built-in fall ensure good
drainage of completely flat structural roof decks. Through an
expert design and specification service Knauf Insulation can
satisfy most projects requiring a cut-to-falls system. Each project
will have an individual design to best suit the needs of the
building.
Standards
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls is manufactured in accordance with BS
EN 13164:2008, EN 16001:2009 Energy Management Systems, OHSAS
18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO
14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 9001:2008
Quality Management Systems,as certified by Bureau Veritas.
Thermal Performance
The thermal conductivity of Polyfoam
ECO Cut-To-Falls is 0.033 to 0.036W/mK, dependent on product
thickness.
- Excellent thermal performance
- Structurally stable in the long term
- Lightweight and easy to install
- Designed specifically for each individual project
Durability
The continuous service temperature limits of Polyfoam ECO
Cut-To-Falls are -20 to +70º C.
Environmental
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls is manufactured with a GWP<5 and is
free from CFCs,HCFCs and any other material with ozone depletion
potential in it’s manufacture and content and represents no known
threat to the environment.
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls is non bio-degradable and 100%
recyclable.
Compression resistance
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls is highly resistant to compression and
withstands both occasional and long term static loads. Load bearing
construction elements should be designed to adequately support the
combination of imposed and dead loads without creating excessive
deflection.
Moisture resistance
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls is resistant to moisture absorption
and can be laid in standing water or up against wet concrete with
negligible impact on the performance of the product.
Moisture absorption
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls has a moisture absorption of 1.1% by
volume when tested in accordance with EN 12087.
Vapour Resistivity
Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls has a vapour resistivity of
600MNs/g.m.
Fire performance
When Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls is installed in a roof
construction it will not contribute to the development stages of a
fire. When overlaid with a single ply membrane the performance of
the finished roof will depend on the membrane used. Please consult
the membrane manufacturer for more details.
Handling and storage
The boards are easy to handle and special protective clothing is
not required when installing them. Polyfoam ECO Cut-To-Falls
schemes are supplied in component parts in polythene packs,
labelled with identifying product and manufacturing data. Ensure
the boards are not stored close to open flames or other ignition
sources, also avoid volatile compounds and chemicals such as
solvents. Polyfoam ECO products should not be left exposed to
prolonged sunlight as this will result in surface degradation.
Where outside storage for extended periods is required cover with
opaque/light coloured sheeting.
