For the thermal insulation of new and refurbished flat roofs

Description

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls is a specially designed system of pre-cut tapered high performance, 100% ozone friendly, extruded polystyrene, rigid insulation boards. Typical board sizes are 1200 x 600 and cut to suit any fall scheme.

The boards are straight edged and can be supplied with a foil facing to suit pvc single ply membrane applications.

Application

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls is used for the thermal insulation of new and refurbished flat roofs. Their built-in falls can ensure good drainage of completely flat structural roof decks. Through an expert design and specification service Knauf Insulation can satisfy most projects requiring a cut-to-falls system. Each project will have an individual design to best suit the needs of the building.

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls is suitable for all types of single ply membrane applications (with or without a foil face as required).

Standards

Polyfoam Cut-to-Falls is manufactured in accordance with BS EN 13164: 2008 and BSI Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001: 2008.

Durability

The continuous service temperature limits of Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls are -50 to +75º C.

Environmental

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls is free from CFCs, HCFCs and any other material with ozone depletion potential in its manufacture and content and represents no known threat to the environment. Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls is non bio-degradable.

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls is 100% recyclable.

Compression resistance

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls is highly resistant to compression and withstands both occasional and long term static loads. A factor of safety for design loads of 3 (5 for long term static loads) is applied to the compressive strength of the product as outlined in the product data table overleaf.

Moisture resistance

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls schemes are resistant to moisture absorption and can be laid in standing water or up against wet concrete with negligible impact on the performance of the product.

Moisture absorption

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls has a moisture absorption of 0.4% by volume.

Vapour Resistivity

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls has a vapour resistivity of 450 MNs/gm.

Fire

When Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls is installed in a roof construction it will not contribute to the development stages of a fire. When overlaid with a single ply membrane the performance of the finished roof will depend on the membrane used. Please consult the membrane supplier for more details.

Handling and storage

The boards are easy to handle and nonirritant, no special protective clothing is required when installing them.

Polyfoam Cut-To-Falls schemes are supplied in component parts in polythene packs, labelled with identifying product and manufacturing data.

Ensure the boards are not stored close to open flame or other ignition source, also avoid volatile compounds and chemicals such as solvents.

Polyfoam products should not be left exposed to prolonged sunlight as this will result in surface degradation. Where outside storage for extended periods is required cover with opaque/light coloured sheeting.
