Polyfoam Agriboard
For the insulation of walls and roofs in
agricultural buildings.
Description
Polyfoam Agriboard is a high performance, 100% ozone friendly,
extruded polystyrene, rigid board insulation. It is lightweight,
yet has excellent structural strength and long term
effectiveness.
Polyfoam Agriboard has an interlocking tongue and groove edge
detail.
Application
Polyfoam Agriboard is used for the insulation of walls and roofs
in agricultural buildings.
Polyfoam Agriboard is recommended for the following
constructions:
- Internal insulation and lining of walls/frames
- Internal insulation and lining of roofs
Note: Our recommended solution for twin skin
metal cladding constructions is Crown
FactoryClad.
Standards
Polyfoam Agriboard is manufactured in accordance with BSI
Quality Assurance Standard BS EN ISO 9001: 2000.
Durability
The continuous service temperature limits of Polyfoam Agriboard
are -50 to +75º C.
Thermal Performance
Polyfoam Agriboard has a thermal conductivity of 0.029 W/mK.
- Combines excellent thermal
performance with toughness and durability
- Highly resistant to water absorption
- Able to resist repeated freeze/thaw cycles
- Lightweight and easy to install
- Not easily damaged
Environmental
Polyfoam Agriboard is free from CFCs, HCFCs and any other
material with ozone depletion potential in its manufacture and
content and represents no known threat to the environment. Polyfoam
Agriboard is non bio-degradable.
Polyfoam Agriboard is 100% recyclable.
Compression resistance
The rigidity of Polyfoam Agriboard makes the board easy to
handle and less prone to site damage than less robust
materials.
In Agricultural buildings, where the insulation is often left
exposed internally, Polyfoam Agriboard is able to withstand minor
impacts without serious damage, helping to prolong its service
life.
Moisture resistance
Polyfoam Agriboard is resistant to moisture absorption. The
interlocking tongue and groove edge detail ensures moisture cannot
penetrate the gap between two boards. For extra moisture control a
bead of solvent free mastic can be run down the tongue and groove
joint during installation.
Polyfoam Agriboard can also be pressure hosed to clean the
internal walls without affecting the performance of the
material.
Moisture absorption
Polyfoam Agriboard has a moisture absorption of 0.3% by
volume.
Vapour Resistivity
Polyfoam Agriboard has a vapour resistivity of 480 MNs/gm.
Fire Performance
Polyfoam Agriboard contains a flame retardant to inhibit
localised ignition. For areas regularly occupied by people, such as
packing sheds, a fire and food safe finish must cover the
insulation.
Handling and storage
The boards are easy to handle and nonirritant. No special
protective clothing is required when installing them.
Polyfoam Agriboard is supplied in polythene packs, labelled with
identifying product and manufacturing data.
Ensure the boards are not stored close to open flame or other
ignition source, also avoid volatile compounds and chemicals such
as solvents.
Polyfoam products should not be left exposed to prolonged
sunlight as this will result in surface degradation. Where outside
storage for extended periods is required cover with opaque/light
coloured sheeting.
