Environmental
Soffit Linerboard Standard is free from CFCs, HCFCs and any
other material with ozone depletion potential in its manufacture
and content and represents no known threat to the environment.

ECOSE® Technology
|
Knauf Insulation mineral wool products with ECOSE® Technology benefit from a revolutionary, bio-based, formaldehyde-free binder technology, based on rapidly renewable materials, instead of petro-based chemicals. It reduces embodied energy and delivers superior environmental sustainability.
The technology has been developed for Knauf Insulation’s glass and rock mineral wool products, enhancing their environmental credentials without affecting the thermal, acoustic or fire performance. Insulation products made with ECOSE® Technology contain no dye or artificial colours – the colour is completely natural.

Soffit Linerboard
Standard’s manufacture has a low impact on the environment and is
classified as Zero ODP and Zero GWP.
Fire Performance
The mineral wool of Soffit Linerboard Standard is classified as
Euroclass A1 BS EN ISO 13501-1.
Soffit Linerboard Standard can be used up to an operating
temperature of 850°C. In the event of fire it will emit negligible
quantities of smoke and fumes. The heat emission from the product
is insignificant.
Moisture Resistance
Soffit Linerboard Standard has a moisture resistant facing
which make the product suitable for applications where it will be
installed in exposed or semi exposed environments such as those
associated with open sided car parks.
Handling and Storage
Soffit Linerboard Standard is supplied on non-returnable wooden
pallets wrapped in a polythene hood for temporary protection during
transit and on site.
For longer term outside storage (stock or site) the pallets
should be stored under a secure waterproof covering. If the boards
do get wet allow them to thoroughly dry before installation.
Installation
Soffit Linerboard Standard is fixed directly to the
structure using a suitable mechanical insulation fixing of types as
recommended for soffit linings by Hilti, Ejot, Fischer or similar
to support a solution of c.18kg/m2. This is typically
six fixings in a 1200 x 600mm sheet, though Knauf Insulation
advises you to seek advice from the specific fixings
manufacturer.
At junctions and edges care should be taken to ensure the
insulation is covered with a suitable flashing at edges in the
case.
