Slab
For the thermal insulation of flat roofs where a medium level
of traffic is required, and hence compressive strength is an
issue.
Description
A range of high strength, consistent density, rigid slabs made
from rock mineral wool, manufactured using Krimpact™
technology, specifically designed for use in flat roofing.
The Krimpact Flat Roof Slab product range includes two slab
densities:
- Krimpact Flat Roof Slab
- Krimpact Flat Roof Slab Extra
Krimpact™ technology realigns the mineral wool fibres during
manufacture to increase impact strength without dramatically
reducing thermal performance - making an ideal product for use in
flat roofs.
Furthermore, Krimpact™ technology gives you a consistent density
slab. This ensures better long-term compressive strength, high
impact resistance, better thermal performance and a thinner,
lighter product compared to other high-strength insulation
options.
Application
Krimpact Flat Roof Slabs are for the thermal insulation of flat
roofs. Krimpact Flat Roof Slabs are suitable for use under all
kinds of single ply membrane, hot applied bitumen systems and
mastic asphalt.
- Krimpact Flat Roof Slab has high compressive strength, where
some occasional loading and impact resistance is required.
- Krimpact Flat Roof Slab Extra is for use where optimum long
term compression performance is required.
Thermal Peformance
Krimpact Flat Roof Slabs have thermal conductivities of 0.038 to
0.039 W/mK
Fire Performance
Krimpact Flat Roof Slabs are classified as Euroclass A1 to BS EN
ISO 13501-1.

All Krimpact Flat Roof Slabs are suitable for maintenance foot
traffic only.
Standards
The Krimpact Flat Roof Slab product range is made from
noncombustible inorganic rock wool, defined as mineral wool in BS
3533: 1981, manufactured in accordance with BSI Quality Assurance
Standard BS EN ISO 9001: 2000.
Durability
The Krimpact Flat Roof Slab product range is non-hygroscopic and
is treated to ensure its water repellency. It is rot proof, does
not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi,
mould or bacteria. Krimpact Flat Roof Slabs are odourless and
non-hygroscopic.
Compressive Resistance
- Krimpact Flat Roof Slab has a compressive strength of 60
kPa
- Krimpact Flat Roof Slab Extra has a compressive strength of 90
kPa
Environmental
Krimpact Flat Roof Slabs are free from CFCs, HCFCs and any other
material with ozone depletion potential in their manufacture and
content and represent no known threat to the environment.

Krimpact Flat Roof Slab’s
manufacture has a low impact on the environment and is classified
as Zero ODP and Zero GWP.
Handling and Storage
Krimpact Flat Roof Slabs are easy to handle and install, being
lightweight and easily cut to size.
All Krimpact Flat Roof Slab products are supplied on
non-returnable wooden pallets wrapped in a polythene shroud for
temporary protection during transit and on site. For longer term
external storage (stock or site) the pallets should be stored under
a secure waterproof covering.
Krimpact Flat Roof Slab should not be left permanently exposed
to the elements.
