ECOSE® Technology
ECOSE® Technology Logo
Knauf Insulation mineral wool products with ECOSE® Technology benefit from a revolutionary, bio-based, formaldehyde-free binder technology, based on rapidly renewable materials, instead of petro-based chemicals. It reduces embodied energy and delivers superior environmental sustainability.

The technology has been developed for Knauf Insulation’s glass and rock mineral wool products, enhancing their environmental credentials without affecting the thermal, acoustic or fire performance. Insulation products made with ECOSE® Technology contain no dye or artificial colours – the colour is completely natural.

Pitched Roof Slab’s manufacture has a low impact on the environment and is classified as Zero ODP and Zero GWP.

Moisture Resistance

When exposed to 90% relative humidity and 20°C Pitched Roof Slab absorbs less than 0.004% of moisture.

Vapour Resistivity

Pitched Roof Slab has a vapour resistivity of 7.00 MN.s/g.m.

Water Resistance

Pitched Roof Slab is non-wicking when tested in accordance with BS 2972:1989 Section 12.

Handling and Storage

Pitched Roof Slab is easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easily cut to size.

Pitched Roof Slab is supplied in weatherproof Supakube packaging which is very easy to unload, ideal for outside storage which frees up internal stock space.

Pitched Roof Slab should not be left permanently exposed to the elements.
