Description

A lime/cement render designed to be applied in one coat to medium and dense masonry. Suitable for damp areas, basements and garages and as a basecoat for the Knauf Insulation range of topcoat renders.

Application

Clean down background to remove any dust, dirt or any matter which will impair the bonding of the render, using a high pressure water jet where necessary. Mask all dirt sensitive elements.

No preparation is required for new blockwork, only pre-wet where necessary to prevent rapid hydration.

For application to brickwork / concrete / stonework or existing masonry apply ThermoShell (TS) - RENDERPRIME first and allow to dry.

Apply TS-ONE COAT to a minimum thickness of 10mm internally and 15mm externally, strike off and level. TS-ONE COAT can be applied up to 20mm in a single coat.

For thicknesses of 20-35mm then apply in 2 coats allowing for a layer of TS-REINFORCING MESH to the whole surface, brush line the the first layer of render and allow to fully dry.

TS-ONE COAT can be sponged / floated or levelled with a grid float to a finish to accept a topcoat. If TS-EQUALISER or TS-SELF CLEAN is to be used then apply a further 3mm of TS-ONE COAT to the hardened but not fully dry, render and finish with a felt pad.

Do not carry out works if the air or surface temperature is 5º C and falling.

For render only plinth areas use TS-PLINTHCOAT

All ThermoShell products should be installed by an approved ThermoShell installer.

Safety at work

Mineral renders exhibit an alkaline reaction upon contact with water and therefore may cause skin irritation or eye damage. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear eye / face protection In case of contact with the eyes rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical advice.

Environmental

TS-ONE COAT possesses no contents that are ecological hazards and therefore represents no known threat to the environment.

Handling and storage

TS-ONE COAT is supplied in 25kg bags and should be stored In a dry moisture protected environment. Shelf life of 6 months, subject to cool frost free storage.
