‘Energy Performance of Buildings Directive’ (EPBD)

The UK must implement the European Union EPBD within local Building Regulations. A key requirement of the EPBD is that an overall energy performance target must be set for each building. This means the demise of former calculation methods such as the Elemental Method and Target U-value Method. The new 2006 edition of the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP 2006) is now the only way of demonstrating compliance with the new requirements.
