In a modern society we are all heavily dependent on a reliable
and constant supply of energy to heat and light our homes and run
business and transport systems.
In the UK the vast majority of our energy needs are met by the
burning of fossil fuels which are a major contributor to climate
change and global warming. In the future the proportion of energy
generated by the use of renewable energy systems will increase
significantly in part due to government policy and a change in
public attitudes.
